Senior Design Engineer (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Provide design leadership for Design for Modern Manufacturing (DfMM), covering assembly, automation, quality, and safety.
• Translate Voice of Manufacturing (VoM) into actionable design guidance and tradeoff criteria for designers.
• Evaluate design alternatives to ensure DfMM objectives are met without compromising product performance or durability.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve recurring producibility and automation issues.
• Develop and standardize Manufacturing Requirement Documents (MRDs) and validation approaches.
• Continuously improve DfMM tools and processes based on production outcomes and designer feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Expertise in manufacturing engineering and product development.
• Working knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly processes.
• Advanced English speaking proficiency required.
• Must be based in Monterrey, Mexico (On-site).
• Travel VISA required for approximately 10% domestic and international travel.

Nice to have

• Expertise in DFx, CPPD, or NPI programs.
• Strong design literacy, including CAD modeling, GD&T, and PMI.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with manufacturing validation methods and digital simulation tools.
