What you will do

• Design, build, and improve ML and LLM-based systems for clinical decision support, personalization, and chronic care management.
• Own the full development lifecycle from problem scoping with clinicians to production deployment and monitoring.
• Develop rigorous evaluation frameworks, including offline benchmarks and human-in-the-loop reviews.
• Build and optimize core platform infrastructure for data pipelines, training, and inference.
• Collaborate with clinicians and product partners to translate medical requirements into technical ML solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to raise the bar on engineering and scientific rigor.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and deploying generative AI and LLM systems in production.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Python.
• Practical understanding of RAG, fine-tuning, prompting, and their associated trade-offs.
• Ability to work with messy, real-world data and design valid evaluation metrics.
• Must be based in the U.S. (W2 eligibility).
• Strong communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration with medical professionals.

Nice to have

• Experience applying ML or LLMs in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated domains.
• Expertise in clinical NLP, medical knowledge representation, or EHR data.
• Experience building agentic systems and tool-using LLMs in production.
• Track record of scaling ML infrastructure for fast-moving teams.
• Previous experience in technical leadership or publishing influential AI research.
