TL;DR

Graphics Programmer, Placement Opportunity (Gamedev): Developing real game code for current and next-gen consoles and desktop platforms with an accent on 3D graphics APIs and in-house tool development. Location: Middlesbrough, UK. On-site with hybrid opportunities (up to 2 days WFH). No visa sponsorship available.

What you will do

  • Write and maintain production game code for current and next-generation consoles and desktop platforms.
  • Develop and improve in-house tools to support the overall development process.
  • Collaborate directly with experienced developers under a structured mentorship program.
  • Gain experience in the full games development cycle, including bug tracking and QA collaboration.

Requirements

  • Currently a second-year student of Game Development, Computer Science, or a related degree.
  • Excellent knowledge of C++ and C# programming.
  • Experience with 3D graphics APIs such as Direct3D, OpenGL, or Vulkan.
  • Must submit a portfolio showreel to be considered.
  • Must have existing right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

  • Excellent mathematics skills.
  • Experience in profiling, optimization techniques, and multithreaded programming.
  • Knowledge of game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
  • Proficiency in other languages like Python or LUA.
