What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of high-precision time synchronization solutions utilizing IEEE 1588 (PTP) and IEEE 802.1AS (gPTP).
• Execute testing and performance optimization to ensure sub-microsecond accuracy and resolve complex timing and latency issues.
• Develop safety-critical networking components in compliance with ISO 26262, including safety monitors and FMEA contributions.
• Optimize embedded networking solutions, managing Ethernet switches, VLANs, and network traffic flows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners on technical architectural discussions and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Engineering, CS, Electrical Engineering, or Robotics.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded systems software development with a focus on time synchronization.
• Expert knowledge of IEEE 1588 (PTP) and IEEE 802.1AS (gPTP) in real-world embedded systems.
• Proficiency in C and modern C++ for RTOS or embedded Linux environments.
• Practical experience with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and timing measurement instrumentation.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAN or Automotive Ethernet protocols.
• Knowledge of broader Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) standards beyond PTP/gPTP.
• Scripting proficiency in Python for automation and data analysis.
• Experience with HIL/SIL testing and kernel-level programming or device drivers.
