What you will do

• Drive firmware architecture across products, establish coding standards, and identify systemic risks.
• Implement RTOS-based firmware for high-performance power conversion and low-latency control infrastructure.
• Design bootloaders, secure firmware architectures, and on-device observability tools (logging, diagnostics, tracing).
• Collaborate with firmware, controls, and cloud teams to define device-level operation and data models.
• Define and implement unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing strategies.
• Serve as a technical resource and informal mentor for other embedded engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of embedded firmware development experience with shipped products.
• Expert-level proficiency in embedded C/C++.
• Deep experience with RTOS, bootloaders, and low-level hardware drivers.
• Strong hardware debugging skills (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.).
• Familiarity with firmware CI/CD and automated testing frameworks.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Scotts Valley.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time control systems or power electronics.
• Knowledge of safety-critical firmware standards (IEC 61508, UL1998).
• Experience with secure boot and device security.
• Familiarity with FPGA or ASIC development.
• Experience integrating embedded systems with cloud/IoT platforms.
