What you will do

• Produce breaking news and enterprise stories for broadcast, digital, audio, and social platforms.
• Conduct research, perform interviews, write scripts, and oversee editing for segments.
• Cover key DC locations including Capitol Hill, the White House, Treasury Department, and the Federal Reserve.
• Pitch original story ideas centered on the intersection of business and politics.
• Coordinate with reporters and field crews to plan coverage and manage live remote locations.
• Manage segment production from pitch to broadcast, including booking feeds and collecting archival video.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of segment or field producing experience in a live television environment.
• Strong writing, research, and communication skills with sound editorial judgment.
• Deep understanding of the impact of politics on the global economy and business.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Must be willing to travel, often on short notice.
• Location: Must be based in Washington, DC.

Nice to have

• Experience covering politics or key policy issues impacting the business sector.
• Proficiency with field camera operation (DV, DSLR), Avid iNews, and CMS.
• Experience with various social media platforms.
