What you will do

• Manage and design 30+ original and tie-in titles per year, including board books, activity books, and chapter books.
• Oversee all stages of book design, from sourcing and hiring freelance artists to providing art direction.
• Create title and series logo designs and release final production files to printers.
• Collaborate with Editorial, Production, and Operations to ensure high quality and meet deadlines.
• Review creative development from licensees and present asset plans to global partners.
• Identify new illustrator and format opportunities for publishing lists.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in children’s publishing, preferably licensed publishing.
• Strong portfolio of print work and outstanding book cover designs.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Experience in prepress, specifically 4-color printing processes and PDF workflow.
• Must be based in El Segundo, California.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
