Release Engineer (Consumer Devices): Designing and operating release infrastructure for complex multi-component systems with an accent on CI/CD pipelines, OTA deployments, and build reproducibility. Salary: $293,000 – $325,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design and operate CI/CD pipelines for multi-component builds using hermetic toolchains.
• Define versioning and branching strategies, automating promotions, changelogs, and artifact retention.
• Integrate unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test results to block unsafe promotions.
• Build A/B OTA update flows with verity and health checks, managing staged rollouts and canaries.
• Implement code signing for binaries/firmware, generate SBOMs, and conduct vulnerability scanning.
• Manage dashboards and alerts for build health and fleet update telemetry.

Requirements

• Experience building build and release systems for consumer devices, robotics, mobile, or embedded products.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation languages such as Python or Bash.
• Strong Linux user-space fundamentals.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or Buildkite and reproducible toolchains.
• Experience managing vendor BSPs and toolchains.
• Proven track record of delivering secure OTA or image updates at scale.
