What you will do

• Design and maintain curated analytical datasets and data models that serve as canonical sources for metrics and dashboards.
• Own metric definitions end-to-end, collaborating with data science and product teams from definition to production.
• Build and maintain executive-level dashboards and self-serve reporting tools for business stakeholders.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to translate ambiguous business questions into performant data assets.
• Establish and enforce data quality standards using testing frameworks, documentation, and monitoring.
• Drive the adoption of consistent data modeling patterns and naming conventions across the organization.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in analytics or data engineering with a focus on building consumer-facing datasets.
• 4+ years of experience designing and maintaining robust data models from structured and unstructured sources.
• 4+ years of experience writing accurate and effective SQL code.
• Fluency in Python with solid fundamentals in version control and CI/CD practices.
• Experience building executive-level reports using BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.
• Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Nice to have

• Experience with modern data tools like dbt and BigQuery.
• Experience building or contributing to a semantic layer or metrics store.
• Experience defining and governing metric standards across a large data organization.
• Background in analytics for communication apps, specifically messaging or video/voice calls.
