TL;DR
Noise & Vibration CAE – Propulsion Mounting Integration Engineer (Automotive): Developing and optimizing propulsion mounting systems to improve vehicle noise and vibration performance with an accent on simulation-based validation and analytical modeling. Focus on building high-fidelity CAE models, reducing mass and cost while meeting N&V targets, and integrating AI/ML workflows into engineering processes.
Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan (reporting to office at least 3 times a week). No relocation benefits provided.

What you will do
- Lead design and development of N&V systems using simulation-based validation to align with vehicle performance targets.
- Perform analytical simulations at vehicle, subsystem, and component levels using Mounting tools.
- Build and debug analytical models to predict N&V performance and generate actionable design recommendations.
- Optimize designs for mass, cost, and packaging constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for holistic performance integration.
- Conduct design optimization and variation analysis using Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Foundational knowledge of vibrations, dynamics, and structures.
- Exposure to CAE and simulation tools through coursework or professional experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship (H1-B, OPT, STEM OPT, etc. are not supported).
- Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Internship or project experience related to vehicle NVH or dynamics.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter, UG-NX, or GM VDDV toolchain.
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or VBA for workflow automation.
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques to CAE applications (e.g., surrogate modeling).
