Information Security Student (Cybersecurity)

TL;DR

Information Security Student (Cybersecurity): Supporting the security team in vulnerability management and cloud security posture monitoring with an accent on infrastructure protection and remediation coordination. Focus on developing hands-on skills in cloud security tools, threat analysis, and cross-team collaboration within a global financial technology environment.

Location: Must be based in St. John’s, NL or Toronto, ON (Hybrid: at least 3 days a week in office).

What you will do

• Learn and utilize vulnerability scanning and cloud security posture management tools.
• Analyze and prioritize security vulnerabilities within cloud infrastructure.
• Coordinate remediation efforts with security and operational teams.
• Assess and improve security processes to strengthen overall posture.
• Develop technical skills through hands-on projects, training, and mentorship.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled and continuing enrollment in a diploma or degree program in Security Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Must include a copy of the most recent transcript when uploading a resume.
• Strong analytical skills and curiosity about security architecture.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across teams.
• Commitment to continuous learning and security best practices.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with vulnerability scanners, container security, or monitoring platforms.
• Practical experience with Linux, Python, Terraform, and AWS.
• Relevant security certifications such as Security+, CEH, GSEC, or AWS SSA.
• Previous internship or project experience in cybersecurity or cloud infrastructure.
