TL;DR

Location: Must be based in Milan, Italy (Hybrid role).

What you will do
- Define and maintain the data governance operating model, including decision rights, RACI matrices, and governance cadences.
- Govern enterprise metadata, including business glossaries, KPI definitions, and data dictionaries to reduce ambiguity.
- Establish standards for data lineage and define governance requirements for new data products.
- Develop a catalogue of customized data quality checks and remediation workflows across all domains.
- Create playbooks and training materials to embed governance practices into the engineering delivery lifecycle.
- Mentor junior team members and act as a trusted advisor for business stakeholders.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Analytics Governance.
- Proven experience designing and running end-to-end governance mechanisms in complex or regulated environments.
- Strong ability to influence without authority and negotiate across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Pragmatic problem-solving skills and ability to drive execution in ambiguous environments.
- Must be based in Milan, Italy for hybrid office attendance.
Nice to have
- Experience with governance, catalog, lineage, or DQ tooling such as Collibra, Alation, or Purview.
- DAMA International/Italia certifications or training.
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or similarly regulated industries.
