TL;DR

Deputy Director (Content): Leading content strategy and creative output for Scotland’s largest radio network with an accent on team development, audience growth, and multi-brand management. Focus on driving high-performance culture, shaping engaging content across platforms, and collaborating with commercial and digital teams to maintain market leadership.

Location: Hybrid role based in Glasgow, 4-5 days in office, with one of those in Edinburgh.

What you will do

  • Support the Content Director in leading content strategy across multiple radio brands.
  • Manage and develop a team of producers and freelance talent.
  • Drive a high-performance culture through effective coaching and feedback.
  • Shape engaging, audience-focused content across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.
  • Utilize audience insights to inform creative decisions and content delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial, marketing, and digital departments.

Requirements

  • Experience in radio, audio, or related media industries.
  • Proven track record in people management and team leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of audience engagement and content delivery.
  • Awareness of the Scottish media landscape.

Nice to have

  • Experience managing freelance talent pools.
  • Multi-platform experience including broadcast, digital, and social media.
  • Content strategy development experience.
