TL;DR

Wind Turbine Service Technician (Renewable Energy): Performing servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wind turbines to ensure high availability with an accent on electrical and mechanical repairs. Focus on on-site performance analysis, implementing action plans to increase fleet performance, and executing hardware and software updates.

Location: Onsite in Peterborough, GB; candidates must live within a 1-hour radius of the windfarms.

What you will do

  • Perform general and specialized servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Nordex wind turbines.
  • Conduct on-site performance analysis and implement action plans to increase fleet availability.
  • Execute software and hardware updates and provide technical support via phone and on-line.
  • Collaborate with technicians and back-office staff to perform on-the-job demonstrations.
  • Create detailed reports on turbine performance and component status.

Requirements

  • Must be based within a 1-hour radius of the Peterborough windfarms.
  • Technical qualification of at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
  • Proven experience in the Mechanical/Electrical industry and ability to read technical diagrams (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical).
  • Full UK/EU Driving Licence is mandatory.
  • Physical fitness and ability to pass a working at height test (up to 140m).
