Salary: $141,300 - $226,000

What you will do

• Define and drive the long-term technical vision and strategy for critical services within the VCF vCenter portfolio.
• Spearhead the architectural design and development of highly scalable and performant distributed services.
• Implement core system components while maintaining high standards for code quality and engineering excellence.
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges as a key troubleshooter for critical system issues.
• Collaborate with product management and quality engineering to translate business goals into technical solutions.
• Enforce strict standards for performance, scalability, and security across all designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience, Master's with 10+ years, or PhD with 7+ years in software development.
• At least 5 years of experience in a lead architect or principal engineer role focusing on distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts (consensus algorithms, fault tolerance, consistency models).
• Strong proficiency in Java and C++.
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
• Must be able to work 100% on-site in Palo Alto, CA.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Python or GoLang.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, specifically the VMware stack (vSphere, ESXi).
