Director of IT & Security (Cybersecurity)

Salary: $155,000 - $175,000 CAD

What you will do

• Lead IT department operational planning and security roadmaps in an Agile environment.
• Ensure compliance with regulations including PIPEDA, FERPA, COPPA, GDPR, and CCPA.
• Conduct organization-wide security awareness training and integrate security best practices into the SDLC.
• Liaise with sales and customers to support security-focused RFPs and review data sharing agreements.
• Coordinate major incidents, conduct post-mortems, and optimize network infrastructure.
• Mentor and lead the IT team through coaching, performance evaluations, and career development plans.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in IT and 2+ years in a people management capacity.
• Proven experience leading SOC 2, ISO 27001, and related security/compliance audit programs.
• Deep knowledge of web application security, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures.
• Strong expertise in networking, telecom, and server technologies.
• University or college degree with a technical major (Engineering or Computer Science).
• Must be based in Canada and work Eastern Time Zone hours

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Agile principles and practices.
• Information Security Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CIPM.
• Network certifications: CCNA, CCNP.
