What you will do

• Perform cannulation of donor organs, including liver, kidney, and lung, and establish vascular access for ex vivo perfusion circuits.
• Support organ procurement and back-table preparation in coordination with the research team.
• Collaborate with perfusionists and researchers to ensure timely initiation of perfusion workflows.
• Troubleshoot anatomical and technical challenges impacting flow and cannulation in real time.
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to clinical and regulatory standards throughout every case.
• Participate in on-call coverage, including nights, weekends, and short-notice case acceptances.

Requirements

• Clinical training in Surgery, Surgical Assistant, PA, NP, or an equivalent procedural specialty.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated proficiency in cannulation of donor organs and vascular access.
• Strong working knowledge of human anatomy, vascular structures, and sterile technique.
• Must be based in New Haven, CT (On-site).
• Availability for on-call cases, including nights, weekends, and short-notice requests.

Nice to have

• Experience in transplant surgery or organ procurement.
• Prior experience with ex vivo organ perfusion systems.
• Background in translational research or preclinical/clinical study support.
