Location: Hybrid (Malta) - 3 days in the office and 2 days at home

What you will do

• Build and manage database hosting capabilities using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for on-prem, cloud, and DBaaS platforms.
• Develop database infrastructure platforms and provide tooling to handle distributed systems.
• Continuously improve, tune, and optimize database platform capabilities based on business needs.
• Analyze and solve complex issues related to efficiency, performance, and scale in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Design and manage efficient database schemas, security, authentication, and encryption.
• Implement and support backup, recovery, and high availability strategies, including failover and replication.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AWS database services, including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB (both DBaaS and EC2 models).
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server administration, optimization, and high availability.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (modules and workflows) and Ansible.
• Proven experience in building scalable and distributed database infrastructure.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Powershell and experience managing Linux distributions.
• Familiarity with open-source monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
