What you will do

• Implement and scale the core economic engine for Waymo's ride-hailing commercial services.
• Develop infrastructure for automatically training and deploying optimization and prediction ML models for real-time pricing, matching, and positioning.
• Automate the model life cycle, including feature engineering, training workflows, and inference services.
• Build and refine the next-generation Marketplace Simulation system for high-fidelity virtual experiments.
• Streamline Marketplace Experimentation practices via a unified user-friendly platform.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience programming in backend languages such as Java or C++.
• Experience building backend platforms that support multiple product use-cases or services.
• Prior Machine Learning Engineering experience in Python using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
• Must be able to work onsite in Mountain View or San Francisco, CA

Nice to have

• MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience deploying ML/Optimization models into production environments.
• Experience developing ML data pipelines and workflow automation on mature ML infra.
• Previous experience at a ride-hailing or marketplace company.
• Academic background/coursework in ML and Optimization.
