Bilingual Expert Group Underwriter

Location: Montreal, Québec, Canada; flexible schedules and the possibility of working from home are available.

Salary: CAD 99,177–121,217 per year, excluding discretionary performance-based incentives.

What you will do

• Establish renewal and quote pricing for large and complex corporate groups.
• Analyze claims experience and trends to develop pricing recommendations and assess long-term feasibility.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries about pricing, experience, and plan design.
• Conduct peer reviews and coach and mentor underwriting staff.
• Participate in or lead strategic projects and process-improvement initiatives.
• Prepare or review ASO and retention financial statements and agreements, and provide underwriting input to management and business partners.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in business administration, mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, finance, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of progressive group underwriting experience, including experience with different funding arrangements and corporate groups.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Strong communication, analytical, decision-making, time-management, organizational, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in English and French is required for daily collaboration with teams and partners.
