What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end process of sensor selection and requirements gathering (resolution, fidelity, robustness) for multi-sensor arrays.
• Manage sensor and hardware procurement timelines and logistics to support scaling.
• Design and implement robust edge software architecture and networking for hot-swappable and scalable components.
• Develop software integration for new hardware and sensors, creating templated solutions.
• Implement procedures for multi-sensor calibration and synchronization to ensure high data quality.
• Collaborate with AI/ML and perception engineers to translate real-world needs into robust software abstractions.

Requirements

• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining edge compute hardware and sensor systems in physical environments.
• Strong background in software development for robotics, specifically managing physical hardware interfaces and multimodal data streams.
• Fluency in Python and/or Rust.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and managing edge-to-cloud data transfers.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Cambridge, MA.
