TL;DR

AI & Automation Intern (AI): Designing and developing automation solutions using Microsoft Copilot and Power Platform to improve operational efficiency with an accent on business process optimization. Location: Hybrid in Ottawa, Canada (in-office presence three days per week required)

Salary: $20.50 - $27.50 per hour

What you will do

• Design and develop automation workflows using Microsoft Copilot and Power Platform tools to reduce manual effort.
• Analyze existing business processes to identify opportunities for AI-driven transformation and optimization.
• Build lightweight applications, dashboards, and scripts for operational reporting and insights.
• Translate business requirements into scalable automation solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Apply data analysis concepts to enhance overall service delivery performance.

Requirements

• Completion of a 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business, or enrollment in a Master's degree.
• Practical application of programming or scripting languages.
• Foundational knowledge of process improvement and data analysis.
• Strong logical thinking with a structured, process-oriented approach to problem solving.
• Must be available for a 4-month work term (September–December) in Ottawa.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, Power Apps, or similar AI tools.
• Experience in workflow automation or operations-focused initiatives.
• Ability to align technical solutions with business outcomes.
