Principal Sourcing Engineer (Medtech)

Location: Must be based in Humacao, Puerto Rico, USA (Hybrid: minimum 4 days a week onsite).

What you will do

• Lead and execute cross-functional supplier transfer projects on schedule and within budget.
• Implement operational strategies using Lean Six Sigma to optimize lead times and eliminate waste.
• Manage comprehensive business cases, project plans, and financial calculations for sourcing initiatives.
• Drive supplier excellence programs, including performance monitoring and capability improvement.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure value stream stability and compliance with industry standards.
• Communicate project progress and risks to stakeholders through a structured reporting framework.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years or Advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in product, process manufacturing, supply chain, or quality engineering.
• Must be able to work onsite at least 4 days per week in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
• Proven track record in delivering large, complex projects within a regulated environment.
• Strong expertise in supplier quality management and risk mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency in project management tools, specifically Microsoft Project.
• Must possess valid U.S. work authorization.

Nice to have

• Lean and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• PMP certification.
• Experience in medical device technology and ISO 13485 standards.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams across different geographies.
