Senior Engineer – Digital Distribution & Engagement (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior Engineer (AWS/Snowflake): Designing and building large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines for client transactions and data products with an accent on cloud-native architecture and data integration. Focus on optimizing ETL/ELT patterns, improving pipeline reliability, and integrating AI-driven tools into data workflows.

Location: Charlottetown, Canada. Must spend at least four full days each week working in an hirify.global office.

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 year

What you will do

• Design and build robust data pipelines using AWS Cloud components and modern data engineering practices in a cloud-native architecture.
• Manage application and data integration platforms using AWS services to streamline access to client information.
• Partner with business stakeholders to manage the full lifecycle of development, reporting, and integration projects following Agile standards.
• Ensure data availability and enablement for business reporting and analytics within established SLAs.
• Create and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, data models, and design artifacts.
• Develop production-grade code and automation to enhance analytical capabilities regarding customer behavior and competitive dynamics.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience with AWS (S3, RDS, Lambda, Glue, SNS).
• 3–5 years of experience designing and maintaining data pipelines using Apache Airflow.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and large-scale data architecture design.
• Strong expertise in SQL, query performance optimization, and ETL/ELT patterns.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline development.
• BS in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a related field.

Nice to have

• 1–2 years of experience integrating AI-driven tools or services (AWS AI, Snowflake Cortex, LLM-enabled apps).
• Experience in the Financial or Investment Management industry.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
