What you will do

• Own the strategy, roadmap, and maturation of the security operations function.
• Lead incident response operations across the full lifecycle, from detection to post-incident review.
• Build, develop, and retain a high-performing team of response analysts and engineers.
• Partner with CISO, Legal, and Communications to manage high-severity incidents and regulatory obligations.
• Define and own program metrics, SLAs, and reporting frameworks for executive leadership.
• Champion the integration of AI-assisted triage, automation, and Detection-as-Code methodologies.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK
• Proven experience in security operations leadership, specifically managing incident response or cyber defense functions at scale.
• Advanced knowledge of CSIRT/SOC disciplines including digital forensics, threat intelligence, and malware analysis.
• Expert-level command of security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, and SANS incident response lifecycle.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, including managing through other managers.
• Proven track record of communicating risk and managing high-severity incidents with executive leadership and legal counsel.

Nice to have

• Experience in password management, identity security, or SaaS security domains.
• Background in red team operations, adversary simulation, or threat hunting.
• Proficiency in Python or PowerShell for automation.
