Senior Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

TL;DR

Senior Security Engineer (Cybersecurity): Improving hirify.global's ability to detect, investigate, and respond to security threats with an accent on detection engineering and automation. Focus on building detections across cloud, endpoint, and network environments, and developing response playbooks to mitigate risks.

Location: Must be based in Zurich, Switzerland (Office 4+ days per week)

What you will do

• Build and improve detections across endpoint, cloud, infrastructure, SaaS, and network environments.
• Support logging, alerting, triage, and monitoring improvements.
• Investigate security alerts and contribute to incident response.
• Develop automation to improve detection, triage, and response workflows.
• Contribute to threat hunting and response playbooks based on threat intelligence.
• Partner with security, infrastructure, and engineering teams to improve coverage.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant security experience (or Master's with 3+ / PhD with 1+).
• Experience in detection and response, incident response, security operations, forensics, or threat intelligence.
• Strong coding or scripting skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Solid systems knowledge in at least two of: macOS, Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP.
• Experience working with cloud, endpoint, network, infrastructure, or SaaS security data.
• Location: Must work from the Zurich office 4+ days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with threat hunting or detection engineering.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud, Google Workspace, and AWS.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, SOAR, data pipelines, or security analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and attacker tradecraft.
