Controller (Multifamily Real Estate): Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations for a growing portfolio of multifamily properties with an accent on GAAP compliance, financial reporting, and Yardi system management. Location: Must be based in New York City (In-Office 4–5 Days/Week)

Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 + Bonus

A vertically integrated real estate investment and services firm specializing in property management, construction, and data analytics within the NYC multifamily market.

What you will do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for multiple multifamily properties.
• Review and sign off on property-level financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee A/P, A/R, cash management, and treasury functions.
• Manage and mentor a team of remote and offshore property accountants.
• Drive operational efficiencies and improve workflows to support portfolio growth.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and NYC regulatory filings like RPIE and TC.

Requirements

• 8+ years of accounting experience within real estate accounting.
• Strong multifamily property accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience managing remote or offshore accounting teams.
• Deep understanding of accrual accounting and property-level financial reporting.
• Must be able to work in-office in New York City 4–5 days per week.

Nice to have

• CPA Designation.
• Experience with NYC regulatory filings (TC, RPIE).
