TL;DR

Legal Counsel (Web3/Blockchain): Developing legal strategies for risk evaluation and scalability in the blockchain industry with an accent on regulatory compliance and international law. Focus on researching global legal frameworks, advising business teams on complex DeFi issues, and building a world-class legal department.

Location: Global Remote (overlap with Eastern Standard Time (EST) preferred)

What you will do

  • Develop strategies for evaluating complex business risks in a business-centric manner.
  • Build scalable processes that provide the business with flexibility and speed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. and international laws and regulations.
  • Research and master the latest legal frameworks from global regulatory bodies.
  • Advise various business teams on a wide range of complex legal topics.

Requirements

  • License to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction, the Republic of Ireland, or the UK.
  • 4 years of experience at a top law firm or 3 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
  • Excellent problem-solving, judgment, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to overlap some working hours with Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Nice to have

  • Detailed knowledge of and passion for blockchain technology.
  • Experience counseling clients in the blockchain or consumer technology industries.
  • Familiarity with legal regimes impacting DeFi and open-source software licensing.
  • Ability to present complex regulatory issues in a practical, results-oriented manner.
