Product Development Engineer

What you will do

• Design new cable products, components, and materials meeting performance, cost, and standards.
• Support full product cycles from concept to qualification testing and prototype builds.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on plant trials, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
• Analyze test data and prepare technical documentation like specifications and reports.
• Partner with product management to address market needs and introduce new products.
• Drive cost-reduction, continuous improvement, and compliance with UL, CSA, IEEE standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Chemical, or related).
• Hands-on experience in product development, design, testing, or manufacturing engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting technical data.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
• Clear communication and multitasking for multiple projects.

Nice to have

• 3+ years in cable, wire, polymers, or industrial manufacturing.
• Familiarity with UL, CSA, ICEA, IEEE standards or certification processes.
• Experience with plant trials, design-to-cost, CAD tools, statistical analysis, or DOE.
• Background in materials, extrusion, compounding, or mechanical testing.
