TL;DR

Senior GL (A2R) Accountant: Supports period-end close and reporting activities for U.S.-based entities with an accent on U.S. GAAP accounting, month-end close processes, and internal controls. Focus on preparing balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, group reporting, and supporting audits in a global corporate environment.

Location: Warsaw, Poland (hybrid - 3 days in office per week). US work hours overlap would be required.

What you will do

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP, corporate policies, and internal controls.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations with documentation and variance explanations.
  • Post and validate journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications.
  • Support group reporting, consolidation processes, intercompany reconciliations, and eliminations.
  • Partner with U.S. corporate accounting and FP&A teams to resolve close and reporting issues.
  • Support internal and external audits, including SOX testing, by preparing schedules and evidence.
  • Identify improvements in accounting accuracy, controls, and close efficiency; prepare ad-hoc analyses.

Requirements

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in General Ledger, Record-to-Report (R2R), or shared services.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and exposure to SOX-controlled environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly in reconciliations and documentation.
  • Very good written and spoken English (additional languages a plus).
  • Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and develop; serve as Site Leader for the team.
