Salary: $190,000 — $210,000 CAD

What you will do

• Design and build resilient batch and real-time data pipelines powering critical products and business growth.
• Build pipelines for migrating from existing data models and sources to new production databases.
• Champion data reliability and performance with monitoring and quality engineering practices.
• Optimize data models for efficient decision-making in high-impact use cases.
• Partner with product, engineering, and data science teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Shape data engineering roadmap, define best practices, and coach teammates.

Requirements

• 7+ years in backend software engineering.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python; deep expertise in data processing and complex SQL.
• Track record driving complex projects in distributed teams, building for optimal UX.
• Experience designing, building, operating distributed data platforms (Snowflake, Spark, Flink, Kafka) with large datasets.
• Experience building, productionizing, and optimizing real-time and batch data pipelines.

• Experience designing data architectures for experimentation.
• Strong opinions on engineering best practices.
