What you will do

• Lead the design, development, validation, and deployment of data science models and analytical products.
• Apply advanced techniques such as machine learning, NLP, forecasting, optimization, and simulation.
• Collaborate with data engineers and software teams to ensure data science outputs are scalable and maintainable.
• Communicate complex findings, uncertainties, and limitations clearly to stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Promote responsible AI, data ethics, privacy, and model governance across projects.
• Guide colleagues on data preparation, feature engineering, model selection, and interpretation.

Requirements

• Strong experience delivering data science solutions in production-oriented or client delivery environments.
• Proficiency in Python or R and practical knowledge of machine learning libraries and analytical tooling.
• Experience with model validation, performance assessment, and reproducible coding/testing.
• Ability to scope data science opportunities and translate them into achievable delivery plans.
• Strong communication skills for explaining model outputs, assumptions, and trade-offs.
• Must be based in West Midlands (Onsite only)

Nice to have

• Experience with MLOps, cloud platforms, vector databases, NLP/LLMs, or AI-assisted products.
• Experience mentoring data scientists or establishing technical standards within a team.
• Background working in consultancy, public sector, or regulated enterprise environments.
