Deputy Security Controller

TL;DR

Deputy Security Controller (Cyber Security): Support the Security Controller in meeting HMG protective security requirements with an accent on physical, personnel, access control, management, and investigation security. Focus on administering guards, CCTV, IDS, clearances, breaches, and compliance using Wiseman database and security policies.

Location: Based in Maidenhead, UK (onsite). Must be British Citizen resident in the UK for the past 5 years (SC) or 10 years (DV) to obtain security clearance. Flexibility to travel within the UK required; full driving license needed.

What you will do

• Assist with physical security: manage guards, NPSA furniture, keys, locks, CCTV, IDS, building security, and asset disposal.
• Support personnel security: conduct BPSS checks, approve access, process visitor and IVCO requests.
• Handle access control: organize combination changes, document checks, mustering, training, and asset movements.
• Manage security logging: SALs, supply chain checks, contracts.
• Investigate breaches, electronic issues, asset loss, criminal activity, and liaise with authorities.
• Ensure compliance with need-to-know principle, aftercare for clearances, and reflect security in company processes.

Requirements

• British Citizen; resident in UK for 5/10 years for SC/DV clearance.
• Flexibility to travel within UK; full driving license.
• Capable of obtaining and maintaining required security clearance.
• Working knowledge of Gov Stan 007 and security policy framework desirable.
• Ability to interpret Security and Personnel Controller requirements.
• Understanding of compliance risks and business impact.
• Good standard of verbal and written English.
