Senior Mechanical Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Mechanical Engineer: Performing engineering process development and testing activities to support manufacturing of gas centrifuges for UF6 enrichment with an accent on rotordynamics, dynamic testing, signal processing, and software development. Focus on empirical and simulated rotordynamics, data acquisition and digital signal processing software, experimental modal analysis, test design and automation, and model verification and validation.

Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee, United States. US citizenship required. Ability to obtain DOE Q Clearance required.

What you will do

• Conduct empirical and simulated rotordynamics using existing tools and developing new techniques and engineering software.
• Develop software for data acquisition, digital signal processing, and analysis of high-speed signals.
• Perform dynamic testing including experimental modal analysis (EMA).
• Design and automate tests, and verify and validate models.
• Participate in reviews of technical designs and papers.
• Accomplish complex engineering assignments, make independent decisions, and prepare engineering reports and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in rotordynamics, dynamic testing, digital signal processing (DSP), Python software development, or ANSYS finite element analysis (FEA).
• US citizenship required. Ability to obtain DOE Q Clearance.

• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
