Manufacturability Engineer

What you will do

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers across multiple locations on the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project.
• Review and disposition supplier mechanical design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements.
• Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are satisfied.
• Apply ASME Y14.5 Geometric Tolerancing principles in design reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• US citizenship required due to the nature of the government contract.
• Active DOE L Clearance (or DOE Q) required.

Nice to have

• Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
• Experience with Model Based Design.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability.
• Experience implementing Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) into designs.
• Ability to review, understand, and apply relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. ASME, AWS).
• Experience supporting design reviews and technical interchanges with suppliers.
• Experience with machining and all forms of welding processes across design and production.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
