Management Accountant

TL;DR

Management Accountant (Finance): Deliver accurate financial reporting, strengthen controls, and support decision-making across UK and European entities with an accent on management reporting, budgeting, audit, tax compliance, and inventory control. Focus on managing general ledger, reconciliations, fixed assets, R&D capitalization, and intercompany balances.

Location: In office based role (5 days per week) in Ystrad Mynach, Cardiff

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience

What you will do

• Manage general ledger accounting, including leasing, accruals, and prepayments reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, annual reports, and statutory submissions.
• Maintain fixed asset register, post depreciations, handle demo inventory, and review assets under construction.
• Manage R&D capitalization, project time posting, and communicate with tax authorities on benefits.
• Report, reconcile, and sign off intercompany balances for European subsidiaries.
• Reconcile VAT (UK and Swedish), income tax, payroll, pensions, and foreign currency accounts.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar Management Accountant role.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with financial systems like Microsoft Dynamics or Medius.

Nice to have

• Experience with inventory accounting and manufacturing environments.
• Experience with European entities.
