Quality Assurance Specialist

TL;DR

Quality Assurance Specialist (Healthcare/DoD): Implement and maintain quality control and assurance framework for the Armed Services Blood Program with an accent on compliance monitoring, regulatory standards, and contractual deliverables. Focus on conducting internal reviews, tracking corrective actions, verifying data accuracy, and preparing quality performance reports.

Location: Falls Church, VA (onsite). Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain public trust clearance.

What you will do

• Implement and maintain the program’s Quality Control and Quality Assurance framework.
• Conduct internal compliance reviews and monitor alignment with FDA, AABB, DoD, and DHA standards.
• Validate documentation, reports, data accuracy, and traceability for contractual compliance.
• Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), maintain Quality Risk Register, and prepare monthly performance reports.
• Coordinate peer reviews, provide quality updates in management reviews, and serve as liaison between leadership and staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Quality Management, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in quality assurance, compliance monitoring, or program oversight in federal, healthcare, or DoD environment.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a public trust clearance.
• Experience reviewing contract deliverables and performance metrics.
• Familiarity with regulatory or accreditation standards in healthcare or medical logistics.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Nice to have

• Experience supporting the Military Health System (MHS) or Defense Health Agency (DHA).
• Knowledge of blood banking operations or medical logistics programs.
