Data Analyst (Data Management)

TL;DR

Data Analyst (Data Management): Translate business needs into data requirements and analyze system data across legacy and modernized environments with an accent on data gaps, trends, and metadata lifecycle management. Focus on developing process flows, ERDs, SQL queries, writing functional specifications, and bridging stakeholders with technical teams for the War Data Platform.

Location: Remote in the National Capital Region (USA); active SECRET clearance required

What you will do

• Document and analyze business processes to identify inefficiencies, data gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Query and analyze data from legacy and modernized systems using SQL to inform decisions.
• Translate requirements into functional specifications, process flows, and ERDs for engineering teams.
• Cleanse, transform data and serve as liaison between stakeholders and technical teams.
• Coordinate data integration across acquisition, procurement, supply chain, and finance domains; manage data source inventory and metadata.
• Partner with data stewards to define quality standards; validate Data Sharing Agreements and prepare reports for leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or technical discipline
• Active SECRET clearance
• 3+ years in business analyst, data analyst, or data management roles
• 3+ years developing process flows, use cases, or business process models
• 3+ years using SQL for data querying and analysis
• 3+ years with Microsoft Office (Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice to have

• Python for data exploration
• Experience with iQuery, Databricks, Erwin, Agile/SAFe, BI tools
• Understanding of DoD Procurement Lifecycle
