TL;DR

Health & Safety Specialist: Develop, implement, and monitor health & safety policies, procedures, and programs compliant with Romanian SSM legislation with an accent on risk assessments, incident management, and regulatory compliance. Focus on designing scalable Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), promoting safety culture, and providing global guidance to local teams.

What you will do

  • Develop, implement, and monitor health & safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with Romanian SSM legislation.
  • Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, and implement preventive measures.
  • Design and deliver health & safety training programs, including emergency response and ergonomics.
  • Investigate incidents, manage reporting, and drive continuous safety improvements.
  • Develop scalable OHSMS in Romania and oversee global implementation.
  • Collaborate with local teams and manage external audits and service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences or Agricultural and Forestry Sciences.
  • Inspector SSM / Specialist SSM certification or equivalent postgraduate/graduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Specialisation in Occupational Safety & Ergonomics and Psychosocial Risks.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Health and Safety role.
  • Strong knowledge of Romanian SSM legislation (Law 319/2006).
  • Fluency in Romanian and English (written & spoken).

Nice to have

  • Certifications in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor).
  • Experience in large or globally distributed organizations with remote/tech-based teams.
