Lead Software Engineer (Fullstack Fintech)

Lead Software Engineer (Fullstack Fintech): Building web apps, back office systems, and tooling for financial product comparison platforms with an accent on fullstack development, API integrations, and AI-enabled workflows. Focus on designing scalable cloud-native applications, optimizing performance, and leveraging AI for business value generation and team efficiency.

Location: Hybrid: 2 days per week in our Tower Bridge office (Wednesdays & Thursdays), London

hirify.global provides a free online comparison service for financial products like credit cards, savings accounts, loans, and travel money. Part of RVU group including Uswitch, Confused.com, and Tempcover.

What you will do

• Collaborate with business leads, product managers, designers, and engineers to solve business problems with software across fullstack.
• Build responsive accessible React components, work with APIs, databases, infrastructure, pipelines, and monitoring.
• Incorporate AI into workflows, develop AI-enabled applications using platforms like N8N, vector stores, RAG, and fine-tuning.
• Conduct code reviews, identify process improvements, ensure best practices, security, and quality assurance.
• Support team delivery, define technical best practices, and evangelize AI adoption across the business.
• Debug complex systems, introduce new technologies, and balance rigour with urgency in MVPs and production systems.

Requirements

• Must be able to work hybrid in London office 2 days per week (Wednesdays & Thursdays)
• Strong Typescript skills and deep Node ecosystem knowledge (node, npm, yarn, Bun desirable).
• Proficiency in React paradigm, software engineering principles, design patterns, and clean code practices.
• Experience with container-based cloud-native apps, REST APIs, scaling, load balancing, and web security.
• AI development experience including tooling, LLM agents, context engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
• Growth mindset, ability to debug large systems, and stay current with industry developments especially AI.
