Senior Data Engineer (Azure)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid; must be based in London (at least 2 days a week in office)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, Scala, Spark, and PySpark within the Azure ecosystem (ADF, Databricks).
• Develop reusable data engineering templates, frameworks, and tooling to support data teams across the company.
• Drive standardization and best practices across data ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
• Implement modern engineering practices, including CI/CD for data pipelines, data quality validation, and observability.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, ML Engineering, and Security teams to ensure secure and cost-efficient infrastructure.
• Optimize data workflows and pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Strong experience as a Data Engineer building scalable data platforms.
• Deep expertise in Azure (ADF, ADLS, Databricks) and Delta Lake.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Scala (PySpark/Spark) for large-scale data processing.
• Hands-on experience with dbt for transformations and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Solid grounding in data modelling, quality, testing, and the end-to-end data lifecycle.
• Must be based in London or able to work from the office at least 2 days per week.
