Staff MLOps Engineer (AI/ML Platform)

TL;DR

Staff MLOps Engineer (AI/ML Platform): Own and build the shared AI/ML platform supporting Synthetic Data Platform for survey augmentation and respondent profiling, with an accent on training infrastructure, model serving, monitoring, and full ML lifecycle management. Focus on auditing existing setup, optimizing costs, integrating with services, and driving AI tooling adoption.

Location: Preferred base in Prague; remote work possible from Germany, Spain, or the UK.

What you will do

• Assess current AI/ML pipeline, decide on extensions or rebuilds, and own the rationale.
• Build shared platform for training, experiment tracking, model registry, serving, and monitoring used across Synthetic Data, Trust Score, and future initiatives.
• Oversee full ML lifecycle from data ingestion to annotation workflows for rapid iteration.
• Own Databricks and Unity Catalog training infrastructure ensuring reproducibility and lineage.
• Develop low-latency model serving APIs, batch jobs, caching, integrated with Java/Spring services.
• Implement observability for data/model drift, accuracy, metrics with Grafana/Prometheus alerts.
• Optimize costs, mentor engineers, and model AI-native development practices.

Requirements

• Deep expertise leading ML platforms at scale, strong opinions on feature stores, registries, serving, observability.
• Experience with Databricks/Spark Native, Unity Catalog, Kubernetes (AWS EKS), polyglot in Python/Scala/Java, Terraform.
• Mature engineering background, systems architecture treating platform as product with APIs/docs/adoption metrics.
• Technical leadership via standards/RFCs, mentoring to senior ICs, pragmatic buy-vs-build decisions.
• Commercially literate to justify investments and align with business priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI tooling like Claude Code, agentic workflows.
