Research Advisor (AI)

What you will do

• Provide senior advisory and leadership on model behavior, domain-specific logic, and model governance.
• Partner with product, research, delivery, and go-to-market teams to design small-scale tasks for frontier model evaluation.
• Translate expert intuition into rigorous, computable evaluation frameworks.
• Represent Scale AI and the Human Frontier Collective as a subject matter expert in sales cycles, executive meetings, and conferences.
• Contribute to technical content, strategic go-to-market assets, research reports, and papers.
• Participate as a foundational member of an interdisciplinary AI research community.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience and strong top-tier expertise in finance, legal, medical, or a related field.
• Demonstrated research experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools and technologies and interest in interdisciplinary AI applications.
• Bachelor’s, master’s, PhD, MD/DO, or JD degree combined with significant professional, clinical, legal, or financial practice experience.
• Self-driven, detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to applied AI research.

Nice to have

• Finance background such as investment banking, private equity, venture capital, consulting, or senior leadership at a top-tier firm.
• Legal background such as partnership or senior counsel experience at a leading firm, federal clerkship, or active bar membership.
• Medical background as a board-certified MD or physician with at least five years of post-residency experience at a leading hospital.
