TL;DR

Technical Team Lead (Java/Fintech): Leading a trading engineering team to develop and support critical OTC product applications with an accent on high-quality Java engineering and operational stability. Focus on mentoring engineers, reducing technical debt, and coordinating with product managers to deliver commercial enhancements.

Location: Hybrid in Kraków, Poland (3 days in office required)

What you will do

  • Lead a trading engineering team hands-on, ensuring high-quality Java development and delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing visibility into work programs and priorities.
  • Mentor and train new joiners to accelerate their understanding of IG's trading business.
  • Collaborate with other engineering leads to manage technical and operational risks.
  • Provide reporting and objective metrics on system availability and project progress.
  • Participate in a compensated on-call support rota.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering mindset with deep professional experience in Java.
  • Proven track record of delivery and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Ability to assess risks and articulate priorities clearly to stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Location: Must be based in or able to work from Kraków, Poland.
  • Employment: Must be available for a full-time employment contract (B2B is not accepted).
