What you will do

• Design and develop TPS for heat shields, acreage, and leading-edge protection systems.
• Create TPS solutions for control surfaces, including elevons, seals, and moving interface solutions.
• Develop internal thermal protection such as insulators, blankets, and standoff systems to protect avionics.
• Lead the architecture and integration of TPS with primary structures and subsystems.
• Perform thermal and thermal-structural analyses to ensure performance under extreme heating.
• Define and execute qualification and environmental test plans, including arc-jet and furnace testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.
• 5+ years of experience in thermal protection system design and validation for aerospace.
• Strong background in aerothermal environments, heat transfer, and high-temperature materials.
• Proficiency in thermal and structural analysis tools such as ANSYS and MATLAB.
• Experience with hardware build, testing, and troubleshooting in a lab or flight environment.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
