Risk Statistician (Fintech)

TL;DR

Risk Statistician (Fintech): Developing and maintaining statistical forecasting models and analytical tools for auto finance portfolios with an accent on credit risk techniques and data mining. Focus on validating model performance, analyzing portfolio factors, and communicating complex statistical results to management.

Location: Hybrid in Fort Worth, TX (2 days a week in office). Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated statistical forecasting models and analytical tools.
• Participate in complex forecasting and reporting related to factors affecting portfolio performance using data mining.
• Ensure accuracy of results through rigorous data analysis and model validation best practices.
• Visualize complex data and communicate methodology and results effectively to management.
• Conduct ad-hoc research projects including project design, data collection, and analysis.
• Monitor and validate model performance and update models to determine impacts on business operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Operations Research, or a similar quantitative field.
• 0-2 years of experience with complex Excel workbooks, querying multi-table datasets, and statistical modeling.
• Proficiency with SAS, SQL, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Advanced knowledge of applied statistical methodologies and econometric principles.
• Ability to map business issues into quantitative questions and coordinate tasks under pressure.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in a quantitative field.
• Experience in consumer loan or lease portfolio analysis, modeling, or forecasting.
• Skills in R, STATA, JMP, or Bloomberg terminal.
• Understanding of metrics used in monitoring consumer lending portfolio performance.
