Lighting Supervisor (VFX)

Lighting Supervisor (VFX): Leading a team of Lighting TDs to create high-end lighting and shadows for feature films with an accent on creative direction and technical pipeline implementation. Focus on managing large teams, optimizing render performance, and driving the development of lighting tools and standards.

Location: Hybrid (London, UK) - Required to work 2 days on-site per week

What you will do

• Lead a team of Lighting TDs to execute creative vision and maintain lighting continuity across sequences.
• Collaborate with VFX and CG supervisors to establish and implement the creative direction of the project.
• Provide technical support to the team and communicate software issues to developers to improve pipeline efficiency.
• Drive the development of tools, standards, and processes in coordination with global counterparts.
• Mentor and develop artists, and actively participate in recruiting and staffing the lighting team.
• Coordinate with production to ensure milestones and delivery targets are met.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Lighting Lead on several high-end VFX projects, managing the full lifecycle to delivery.
• Extensive management experience leading teams of 10+ members with strong interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux, Python, and shell scripting.
• Strong working knowledge of Katana, Maya, and Nuke.
• Deep understanding of color theory, composition, lighting, and aesthetics.
• Highly proficient in technical problem solving, debugging, and optimizing renders.
