TL;DR

Communication Security (COMSEC) Manager (Cybersecurity): Managing COMSEC materials and cryptographic programs for the Deployable Communication Team with an accent on administration, accountability, and regulatory compliance. Focus on overseeing day-to-day operations, performing audits, and ensuring the secure handling and destruction of classified cryptographic materials.

Location: Onsite in Hampton, VA. Clearance: TS/SCI required

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 Annually

What you will do

  • Administer and manage COMSEC materials and equipment according to USAF and DoD regulations.
  • Perform inventories, audits, and inspections of COMSEC material and equipment.
  • Process, issue, receive, transfer, and destroy cryptographic keying material.
  • Maintain accurate COMSEC records, logs, reports, and documentation.
  • Train and advise personnel on COMSEC procedures and security requirements.
  • Support the management of encryption devices and key management systems.

Requirements

  • Clearance: TS/SCI is mandatory.
  • 6-9 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Simple Key Loaders (SKL) and Type 1 cryptographic devices (e.g., KG-175, KG-250).
  • DoD 8140 compliance IAT II (e.g., Security+).
  • Familiarity with AFI 33-215 and AFMAN 17-204.

Nice to have

  • Experience with DoD deployed communications.
  • Experience with DoD NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS Networks.
  • Ability to implement and troubleshoot network/COMSEC infrastructure devices.
