What you will do

• Own and evolve AWS infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, and managed services.
• Lead platform-level architectural decisions and service migrations (e.g., Redis to Valkey, EKS to ECS/Fargate).
• Design and maintain safe, repeatable, and observable deployment pipelines.
• Manage system reliability through capacity planning, failure modeling, and incident response.
• Implement robust observability (metrics, logs, tracing) and ensure secure AWS configurations and IAM policies.
• Mentor other engineers and establish organizational standards for operational maturity.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience operating production infrastructure in cloud environments.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services (EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, RDS, ElastiCache, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Strong understanding of containerized workloads and orchestration tradeoffs.
• Proven ability to execute infrastructure migrations safely in production.
• Must be based in Austin, TX for in-person work.

Nice to have

• Experience operating infrastructure for financial systems or other high-reliability domains.
• Experience scaling infrastructure through periods of rapid growth.
• Comfort working with a Rails-based application stack.
