TL;DR

Art Director (Commerce Media): Set the strategic creative direction for designs across Amazon, Walmart, Instacart, Chewy, and emerging commerce platforms with an accent on defining point of view, leading high-stakes commerce design work, and pushing platform boundaries. Focus on translating performance data into creative decisions, integrating SEO best practices with discoverability and AI-driven features, and articulating design rationale through shopper, platform, brand, and business lenses.

Location: USA - 100% remote

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 plus discretionary performance bonus

What you will do

  • Set strategic creative direction for Amazon, Walmart, Instacart, Chewy, and emerging platforms, defining POV beyond execution.
  • Lead high-stakes design work including A+ Content, Brand Stores, DPIs, video, and Commerce Media creative for top accounts.
  • Translate platform performance data into creative decisions, defending or refining ideas with conviction.
  • Design with SEO awareness for e-commerce discoverability, indexing, keywords, and AI features like Amazon Rufus.
  • Articulate design rationale internally and with clients, consulting across retail operations, performance, and strategy teams.
  • Mentor studio team, develop frameworks and thought leadership, stay ahead of platform changes, and lead new business pitches.

Requirements

  • 8+ years design experience, significant time on Amazon and at least one other major commerce platform
  • Expert in Commerce Creative: A+ / Premium A+, Stores, DPIs, video, Sponsored Brands, and performance data
  • Track record reframing platform capabilities, not just following specs
  • Lead senior client conversations and executive pitches, defending creative strategy
  • Fluent in commerce performance data to sharpen creative decisions
  • Articulate strategy confidently; comfortable across creative, operations, performance, sales
  • Agency or large retail/commerce brand experience
  • Portfolio proving all above
